Big Question

Why is it that "when one mans happy, the other mans sad"?

  1. In my opinion... I see it as after trying and trying so much and trying to compromise. Well you cannot always make everyone happy. How I like to think about it is, every mind is it's own world. We all think differently and have our own opinions that fit us to our preferences. Well in the end it is hard trying to satisfy everyone. We just have to settle for the best. Even if it is NOT exactly what we want... I hope this answered you Big Question?!?! ! :)

  2. Great opinion Socorro! I agree with you on not being able to make everyone happy. I like how you compared it to preferences since it does matter in this situation. Not everyone will get the same result out of something. One person might have asked for something but got the complete opposite while the "one man" got the unexpected but saw it as a good thing.

  3. They can't exist without each other. No one will know happiness until they've experienced sadness, and vice versa. No one can be happy all of the time, and you cannot please everyone (you will be the greatest politician ever if you can figure that one out).

You can definitely have a mutually beneficial relationship where both parties are happy, but in the majority (if not all) of the cases the benefit comes at the cost of another party. I guess what would matter is if that party minds the cost or not.

I would want to expand on it more, but I keep finding myself venturing off topic. :/
